Woo hoo! Can't believe the race has come and gone. For those of you that may not know every year SAA (med school spouse association) puts on a Fun Run and I chaired it this year along with my friend Gentri. It was definitely one of the hardest but most rewarding experiences I've had. Really made me appreciate all the work that goes into putting on a race. All proceeds from this race go to a local charity of our choice. We picked a charity right here in Kirksville so we could see the money go back into this great community. A lot of local businesses donated food, drinks, medals, raffle prizes, and money. We had over 150 racers and it was a beautiful day for running. The local news even showed up (love a small town). Jackson is in this news clip.
My partner in crime, Gentri.
I D.O. DO U? was our slogan (play on words for DOCTOR OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE) and yes we thought we were quite creative :)
I put Tyler to work. He was our lead pace biker.
Looking excited to run.
Giving out medals. We had to move inside after a bit because it got a little cold.
We also had a kids run. It was about .40 of a mile. Jackson was so excited about this. He was determined to win. Well he didn't win but he did run the whole time and got a prize afterwards. He was happy about that.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered and ran---we couldn't have done it without you. Thank you Tyler for being so supportive and putting up with having to hear about fun run non-stop the past few months. When we got home yesterday he have me a gift card for a massage---can't wait to use that :)

Yeah! It looks like everything turned out so good. Nice work on the slogan and the t-shirts. The t-shirt is a keeper, that is a pretty important aspect of doing a run:). Great job, you were supposed to do a half a** job so they don't make you do it every year!
So glad that's over :) Cute pics you got, I need to steal a few from you! You did such a great job!!! I feel like I need to call you all the time now, since we were stuck at the hip last week!! haha
Thanks a ton Aimee, it was so much fun. You did a great job!
Ahh...that was sure nice of Tyler. You deserve it. We'll for sure be driving out for it next spring.
This was so much fun and so well organized. You and Gentri did a great job. Thanks so much! I nominate you to organize it next year:)
That was so much fun! You definitely deserve a massage after months of running around.
Thank you!
I second Emily's nomination!
Wow. I am proud of you and glad for you that it is over so you can focus on your new found love of sewing. Way to go Aimee and you deserve that massage.
Good job little sis! I hear you're going to do this every year? Just like our annual "Wise Classic" we had one year. Maybe it will be annual some day.
Tyler is sweet to give you a gift card for a massage. How nice!
I finally am looking at the new blog!! Spring Break was awesome, we'll see what we can arrange next year!
Seriously, don't ever cut Jackson's hair! No really!
I was so nervous to read this post because I couldn't be there to guard your food. I wanted to be there so bad! There's always next year...except you won't be in charge so I don't know that it will be as cool. Dang car people! I did hear that it was a blast. Good work!
Wow you are one busy woman! Sounds like you guys are enjoying living in Missouri! I love following your blog so I can keep up with your Family!
